It’s Autumn and we feel that the long walks in the soft evening light and the exciting hikes to the top of the mountains are just vague memories..at least until the next Summer. It’s true, in Autumn the weather is unpredictable, the wind is colder, the leaves are falling and, above all, IT RAINS! It always rains, it rains too much, it rains also when we would really need to have a little walk.

So, why we are still at home!? Nature in Autumn reveals in all its magnificence, even when it’s raining, and it can surely be more surprising than the windows of the biggest shopping center.

Here my little list of things to do when it’s raining...into the wild:

1. Feel the raindrops on your skin..

..it is not like having a shower! There is no need of getting too wet! You just have to stick your hand out of the umbrella to feel the pleasant sensation of a water which comes directly from the sky. You can try the amazing pression of the biggest raindrops and the lightness of the little ones. For the most reckless (and without make-up) I suggest to try this sensation also on the face.

2. Jump in the puddles

One of the most forbidden things to children..Ok, maybe I don’t recommend it in every circumstance, but do you remember how much fun (and how many times they told you not to do it)? It is a simple and free entertainment just down the road. Why don’t take advantage of it?

3. Search for spiderwebs

You have surely already noticed in the sunlight that spiders are brilliant architects. Their works are slender and elegant, but not less resistant. Effectively, they can resist a light or medium rain with no damage: rain will not destroy their masterpieces, on the contrary, it will enhance their beauty, highlighting the extraordinary geometry through the reflections of the water.

4. Smell the humid wood

The smell of the underbrush is intensified by humidity. Deeply inspire, this is a fragrance which you can’t find closed in a bottle.

5. Find a shelter

If you have been so brave to put on the boots and the rainjacket and go out for a walk even with such an unpredictable weather, you won’t be scared of a few raindrops. But sometimes the situation can be critical and, if you don’t wish to get too wet, the best thing to do is searching for a shelter...and this is the way to find unexplored and magical places.

6. Admire the incredible effect of the raindrops falling into a lake or a pond

It is simply spectacular, and moreover it’s so relaxing. Raindrops fall into the water creating continuously moving drawings. Let’s sit down for a second and listen to the sound of the rain.

7. Dance in the Nature, be crazy, nobody else will be outside

Rain can recall sadness, or solitude. But in this super stimulating world, in this life always connected, sometimes our spirit asks just for a break, to find our inner balance again. So, go out, walk, remember the tune of your favourite song and dance! Nobody else will be outside when it’s raining, nobody will look at you. And you will discover that sometimes you can live unusual, but wonderful, experiences.

..It’s time to try it out!
