I’ve finally had the chance to watch this movie, after at least two months while my partner was repeating me that it was really worth to watch. And he was right.
This documentary movie directed by Nicolas Vanier is a Canadian/French production and it is a marvellous representation of the true life of one of the last trappers in the Yukon, Canada.
Norman Winther is in the part of himself in this amazing ode to the Nature and every character in the movie is played by the real person.

I’m vegetarian since I was 14 and I’ve always been convinced that hunting is an horrible thing in every case, no exceptions. But this movie taught me that we don’t have to be always so black or white and that we should really think about matters and have a better knowledge of them before giving an opinion.
‘The last trapper’ makes you think about the place of the man in the environment and the importance of the predator that, contrary to what you could think, contributes to the repopulating and reorganization of the forest.

What can you find in this movie?
Breathtaking landscapes, amazing soundtrack, an indian woman who patiently waits and works in a cozy wild wooden house, beautiful intelligent husky dogs, a man who listens to Nature, who thanks every animal he kills for what it is donating.
Let me know what you think and what is your idea about hunting.
